Castiglioni represents the fulcrum of the Frescobaldi wine production, which demonstrates their exploits since 1300. The estate expands along the ancient Via di Castiglioni, a route built by the Romans to get from northern Tuscany to Rome, the eternal city.

The area was already known in ancient times for the good quality of the land which gave excellent agricultural crops and was for centuries the fulcrum of intense trade and a favorite place for the construction of luxurious Roman villas.

In Val di Pesa, which is located south-west of Florence, the area is particularly suitable for the cultivation of elegant Sangiovese vines, but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. All the vineyards located on the estate enjoy a particular warm and dry microclimate, with light afternoon breezes rising from the Tyrrhenian sea.

In this splendid territory the berries ripen earlier and more completely, bringing intense and fruity notes, great softness and fine structure to the wines. Ruby red in colour, Chianti Castiglioni reveals itself in the glass with particular softness, fruity taste and a strong and well-defined character. It pairs perfectly with first courses with meat sauce, and is perfect with grilled meat and mature cheeses.
