The Chardonnay Alto Adige DOC by Alois Lageder represents an elegant expression of the grape grown in the sunny vineyards of Alto Adige, one of the most suitable areas for this white wine in Italy. Here, thanks to the cool climate and the calcareous-clay soils, a fresh and vibrant wine is born, with a balanced and refined character.

The winemaking method includes careful fermentation in stainless steel and a short aging on fine lees, which adds complexity and creaminess without losing the typical freshness of the grape. In the glass it appears bright straw yellow, while on the nose it opens with aromas of ripe apple, white peach, and light floral notes of acacia.

On the palate, it releases a pleasant minerality, good structure, and delicate hints of almond that invite further tasting. It is ideal paired with delicate fish dishes, shellfish, and fresh cheeses, perfect for those looking for a sophisticated and versatile white.

Winery history

Production philosophy
The winery practices biodynamic farming as a central approach: care for biodiversity, integration of livestock and horticulture, use of biodynamic preparations and reduced cellar interventions. Over the years it has also pursued sustainability measures across the supply chain.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards distributed across the Alto Adige region, with sites in Magrè and areas around Cortaccia, Termeno and Caldaro. The vines are planted on diverse soils and span an altitude range of approximately 200 to 1,000 metres above sea level.
