Let’s talk about Chardonnay Sicilia DOC - Rapitala

More questions

Rapitala Chardonnay Sicilia DOC presents an immediate and sincere profile, marked by a fragrant directness that blends apple and pear with light citrus notes. The sip is medium-bodied, with good freshness and a well-balanced softness that makes it easy to drink; a subtle salinity is felt that supports the finish, which is clean and of moderate persistence. Overall it gives the impression of a terroir-driven white without excesses, suitable for those looking for balance and pleasantness.

Excellent served chilled, around 8–10 °C, it best expresses its character paired with seafood dishes, grilled fish and light vegetable preparations, but it also holds up well with delicate white meats and fresh cheeses. It’s a versatile choice for everyday drinking and informal dinners, able to accompany the meal without overpowering it and enjoyable from the first glass.

The story
The estate was created through the reconstruction undertaken by Hugues Bernard conte de la Gatinais and Gigi Guarrasi after the earthquake in the Valle del Belice. Founded in 1968, the winery has grown by blending indigenous and international grape varieties, maintaining a production approach focused on elegance and a close connection to the territory, now carried forward by the winemaking team listed on the winery's website.
Production philosophy
To showcase Sicily’s diverse micro-terroirs through a sustainable, organic approach to viticulture, with the aim of combining the richness of the Mediterranean landscape with the elegance of French savoir‑faire.
Terroir and vineyards
Situated among the hills that descend from Camporeale toward Alcamo, the estate is characterized by distinct altitudes, soils and microclimates that contribute to the expressive diversity of the wines produced.
