More questions
La Forra Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2021 from Tenuta di Nozzole for Folonari shows a clear color and a compact structure. On the nose there are impressions of ripe red fruit, light spicy nuances and a hint of earthy notes; the aromas unfold in a balanced way without excess. On the palate it has body, well-integrated tannins and a linear flavor progression that echoes the fruit perceived on the nose, supported by good acidity that preserves freshness and tension.
It pairs well with traditional Tuscan dishes, meat ragù, aged cheeses and hearty soups; serve at around 16–18 °C and, if desired, decant briefly to encourage aromatic openness. For those seeking a recognizable Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG with a restrained style, this wine offers a coherent, ready-to-enjoy option with some potential for medium-term development if stored under suitable conditions.

The story
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
