More questions

The Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières from Domaine Jean Michel Gaunoux et Fils is a white wine that elegantly reflects the expression of the Meursault terroir. Known for its extraordinary refinement and complexity, this Premier Cru is made from meticulously selected Chardonnay grapes. The color is a bright golden yellow, heralding the wine's richness and depth. On the nose, it opens with inviting aromas of white flowers, honey, toasted hazelnuts, and mineral nuances typical of the region. On the palate, Les Genevrières presents itself as rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of acidity and a long aromatic persistence finishing with elegant notes of butter and vanilla. This wine is ideal for accompanying refined dishes such as lobster, fish in creamy sauces, or roasted poultry. With a remarkable aging potential, the Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières evolves magnificently, gaining complexity as the years go by.

The story
The Gaunoux family has been present for generations in the Côte de Beaune. Jean‑Michel established his own domaine around 1990 by bringing together parcels from his maternal side; his son Henri joined the management in 2012. More recently the business is registered as DOMAINE JEAN‑MICHEL GAUNOUX ET FILS, based in Meursault.
Production philosophy
Traditional vineyard work with 'lutte raisonnée' practices and limited cellar interventions: unobtrusive winemaking, moderate use of wood during maturation, and minimal handling to preserve the purity and typicity of the terroir.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards spread across several communes of the Côte de Beaune — Meursault, Puligny, Volnay and Pommard — on the typically calcareous‑marly soils characteristic of the area.
