Montecucco Rosso DOC Riserva - Risveglio 2020 - Colliforti 2020

The Montecucco Rosso DOC Riserva Risveglio 2020 is the most authentic expression of the territory at the foot of Monte Amiata, a wine of great personality that combines elegance, structure, and extraordinary aging potential.

The grapes come from a vineyard located at 245 meters altitude with a southwest exposure, where the climate benefits from the typical mountain temperature variations and breezes from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The volcanic soil, rich in sandstone, marl, and calcareous clay, gives the wine a marked mineral imprint, freshness, and depth.

The production follows a strictly artisanal approach: the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and carefully selected to ensure only the best bunches. The 2020 vintage was produced during the company's organic conversion process, now fully certified organic.

To reach its perfect balance, the Risveglio ages for about two years in French oak barriques, followed by at least twelve months of bottle aging. The result is an intense and complex wine, capable of combining aromatic richness, great structure, and a long, harmonious finish, ideal to accompany red meats, game, braised dishes, and aged cheeses.

The quality of the Montecucco Rosso DOC Riserva Risveglio 2020 has also been recognized by international critics with the Rosso Award at the Merano WineFestival 2024 and the Gold Medal awarded by the Gilbert & Gaillard guide.
