The Sangiovese di Romagna DOC Riserva Zanarina shows an elegant, restrained profile characteristic of the grape. It displays a ruby red color with subtle garnet reflections; on the nose it opens with aromas of ripe red fruit, small berries and lightly spicy notes, backed by a herbal undertone evoking Mediterranean scrub. On the palate it is balanced, supported by present but well-integrated tannins, with good body and a freshness that keeps the tasting clean and smooth through the finish.

It pairs well with Italian dishes from grilled meats to structured sauces, and also finds good balance with matured cheeses and mushroom-based dishes. Recommended serving temperature is around 16–18 °C and a large glass to enhance the aromas. It is a wine to enjoy both young and after a few years of cellar ageing, depending on personal preference and the occasion.

Winery history
Formed from the aggregation of several cooperatives beginning in 1999; the 'Progetto Qualità' led to the creation of bottled lines (including 'I Calanchi') and the concentration of vinifications at the Modigliana cellar.
Production philosophy
To valorize hillside grapes of the Faenza area through shared agronomic protocols with members, vineyard selection, centralized quality controls and targeted aging (the 'I Calanchi' line is aged in wood).
