The 2022 Serralunga Barolo by Franco Boasso immediately shows a fine, nervy texture: in the glass it is dark yet luminous, with aromas that move between compact red fruits, light floral notes and a background of earth and sweet spices that does not overpower. The olfactory profile remains measured and coherent, suggesting a sip that favors balance and tension over opulence; on the palate it reveals tannins that are present but well integrated and an acidity that supports the structure, delivering a sense of lift and pleasant length. At the table it calls for dishes that can stand up to its structure, from braised meats to mushroom-based preparations or aged cheeses, but it also responds well to simple rustic pairings that highlight its freshness.
The magnum format, contained in the wooden case, is ideal for slow development in the cellar or for a more theatrical opening in company: serving at a controlled temperature and allowing a minimum of decanting will enhance its aromas and tannic framework.

The story
