Winery located in Montalcino (Tuscany), established through the collaboration of the Frescobaldi and Mondavi families; known for the iconic "Luce" (a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot) and for a portfolio that also includes Brunello di Montalcino and other labels.
The Tenuta Luce project began in the early 1990s with the meeting of Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi. Over time ownership and management consolidated under the Frescobaldi group; the winery developed a historic collection of vintages and, through subsequent acquisitions, established a modern underground cellar integrated into the surrounding landscape. Operational leadership passed to Lamberto Frescobaldi in the early 2000s.
Production philosophy
Enhancing Montalcino's terroir by combining tradition and modern techniques: respect for the soil and attention to quality in the vineyard, grape selection and winemaking that seek a balance between local and international varieties.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards located on the hills of Montalcino with a south-facing exposure. The microclimate, with cool nights, promotes slow ripening and preserves the grapes' aromatic character and structure.
