The Taurasi DOCG "Pietrafusa" by Villa Matilde Avallone is a majestic expression of the Aglianico vine, grown in the volcanic lands rich in history of Campania. This wine represents the excellence and dedication of Villa Matilde in producing wines that reflect the power and complexity of the territory, together with the varietal richness of Aglianico, one of the most noble and characteristic vines of Southern Italy.

The Taurasi area, located in the heart of Irpinia, is renowned for its unique pedoclimatic conditions, which allow Aglianico to express itself at its best, giving wines of great structure, aromatic intensity and aging capacity. "Pietrafusa" is the result of a careful selection of the best Aglianico grapes, coming from particularly suitable vineyards, where the combination of volcanic soils, exposure and microclimate creates the ideal environment for the ripening of the grapes.

The vinification of Taurasi "Pietrafusa" involves controlled fermentation and long maceration on the skins to extract color, tannins and deep aromas. This is followed by refinement in oak barriques, where the wine matures for several months, acquiring complexity, elegance and aromatic nuances that integrate harmoniously with the varietal character of Aglianico.

Visually, Taurasi "Pietrafusa" presents itself with an intense, almost impenetrable garnet red color, a prelude to its richness and depth. On the nose, intense and enveloping aromas of ripe red fruit, spices, balsamic notes and a light touch of vanilla and chocolate emerge, the result of aging in wood. These olfactory sensations are enriched with earthy and mineral nuances, which reflect the volcanic origin of the soil.

In the mouth, "Pietrafusa" shows all its power and complexity, with robust but refined tannins, a remarkable structure and an impeccable balance between acidity and alcohol. The flavors of ripe fruit intertwine with spicy and mineral notes, leading to a long and persistent finish, which leaves a feeling of elegance and satisfaction.

Ideal in combination with rich and savory dishes, such as grilled red meats, roasts, game and mature cheeses, the Taurasi DOCG "Pietrafusa" by Villa Matilde Avallone is an excellent choice for lovers of great red wines, capable of offering an experience intense and memorable tasting, which celebrates the essence of Aglianico and the richness of the Campania terroir.
