The Pinot Nero Alto Adige DOC Riserva - Trattmann - Girlan is a red wine of refined elegance that reflects the essence of the Alto Adige terroir. Girlan Winery, located in the heart of this region renowned for its high-quality wines, has captured in the Pinot Nero grapes the perfect expression of the land from which they come.

With a careful and meticulous winemaking process that includes slow fermentation and maturation in French oak barriques for about a year, the Riserva Trattmann stands out for its complexity and structure. The color is a deep, seductive ruby red, with nuances that tend towards garnet as it ages.

On the nose, the wine exudes intense and enveloping aromas of ripe red fruits, subtle spices, and a light touch of vanilla, a result of its aging in wood. Tasting reveals a balanced palate with beautiful acidity and finely woven tannins, which give the wine great elegance and a long, pleasant aromatic persistence.

Ideal paired with red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses, the Pinot Nero Alto Adige DOC Riserva Trattmann from Girlan is a wine that offers moments of pure tasting pleasure, showcasing all the potential and nobility of Pinot Nero in Alto Adige. A true treasure for lovers of mountain wines that express character and territorial identity.

Winery history
Founded in 1923 by an initial group of growers who chose an ancient 16th-century farmhouse in Cornaiano, the winery has evolved into a cooperative bringing together about 200 families. The ancient underground cellars and historic buildings coexist with modern facilities: harvesting and winemaking are managed with care for each individual vineyard to highlight local specificities.
Production philosophy
The winery aims to showcase historic local varieties and to interpret international varieties in a way that reflects the local terroir. Sustainability is central: targeted agronomic practices, reduced use of mineral fertilizers, energy-saving measures and the introduction of lighter bottles to reduce emissions.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards are located mainly in the Oltradige and the Bassa Atesina, on morainic and porphyric soils. Some crus and sites mentioned include Gschleier, Plattenriegl, Montiggl and Mazon, known for their diversity of exposure and soil.
Awards and recognitions
The winery and individual wines have received national and international recognition: for example, the Trattmann Pinot Noir Riserva has been listed among wines awarded "3 Bicchieri" by Gambero Rosso for consecutive years; the Vigna Ganger Pinot Noir Riserva has received very high scores from Wine Advocate; the Gschleier Alte Reben Vernatsch has been highlighted by Decanter among notable wines.
