Rimapere's Pinot Noir is an exemplification of the grace and complexity that the Pinot Noir grape can express in the New Zealand wine region, particularly in the famous Marlborough area, known for its ability to produce white and red wines of exceptional quality . The Rimapere winery, whose name in the Maori language means "five acres", is a project born from the collaboration between the Rothschild family and other wine enthusiasts, with the aim of making the most of the unique conditions offered by this territory to produce a distinctive and refined Pinot Noir.

Marlborough, with its cool maritime climate, offers ideal conditions for Pinot Noir, allowing the production of wines characterized by notable aromatic elegance, freshness and complexity. The soil, composed mainly of gravel and pebbles deposited by ancient glacial rivers, ensures good drainage and contributes to the concentration of flavors and minerality of the wines.

Rimapere's Pinot Noir benefits from careful vinification, aimed at preserving the delicate varietal notes and enhancing the unique characteristics of the terroir. The grapes are harvested manually at the optimal point of ripeness and subjected to fermentation in stainless steel tanks or in small batches in open containers, to allow greater extraction of color and aromas. The wine is then aged in oak barriques, which helps to round the structure and add complexity without overpowering the freshness and fruitfulness typical of Pinot Noir.

Visually, Rimapere's Pinot Noir has a bright and captivating ruby red color. On the nose, it opens with an intense aromatic bouquet, characterized by notes of cherry, berries and sweet spices, with subtle hints of aromatic herbs and moist earth, which reflect the complexity and depth of the wine. In the mouth, the wine surprises with its elegance and balanced structure, with soft tannins and a lively acidity that support its freshness. The red fruit flavors intertwine with earthy and spicy notes, leading to a long and persistent finish, which leaves a pleasant sensation of harmony and complexity.

Ideal in combination with meat-based dishes, such as grilled lamb or game dishes, as well as with medium-aged cheeses, Rimapere's Pinot Noir is also an excellent meditation wine, capable of offering a rich tasting experience that enhances the virtues of Pinot Noir grown in one of the best terroirs in New Zealand.
