Tasting a wine from Zelige Caravent is a unique experience, and the Marie Galante AOC is no exception. This wine, originating from the renowned Languedoc wine region in France, perfectly embodies the excellence and tradition that characterize the labels of this winery.

The Marie Galante AOC is a red wine that stands out for its deep ruby color with violet reflections. On the nose, it offers an intense and complex bouquet, where ripe red fruit notes such as cherry and plum stand out, enhanced by spicy nuances and a slight boisé touch, all supported by a subtle web of vanilla and black pepper, imparted by careful maturation in barrique.

On the palate, it is rich and enveloping; its structure is robust but balanced, with well-integrated tannins that promise great aging potential. The acidity is well balanced, leading to a long and persistent finish, leaving pleasant memories of ripe fruit and spices in the mouth.

The Marie Galante AOC is ideal for accompanying rich and structured dishes, such as roasted red meat, game-based dishes, or aged cheeses. It is advisable to decant it at least one hour before serving to allow it to express all its qualities to the fullest.

This wine not only seduces the palate but also represents an excellent choice for those looking to add a touch of class and refinement to their cellar. The high level of care and attention to detail that Zelige Caravent dedicates to the production of this wine makes it a genuine gem of Languedoc.

Winery history
The project is linked to Luc and Marie, who developed the vineyard in the Corconne area. Industry sources cite a 2005 vintage associated with Luc Michel's takeover; the cuvées are often renewed and not repeated year on year.
Production philosophy
Low-intervention practices: organic/biodynamic viticulture, hand-harvested grapes, fermentations with native yeasts, variable macerations and limited use of SO2 during aging. This approach prioritizes terroir expression and the freshness of the wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in Corconne, in the Pic Saint-Loup area, on "gravette" and limestone soils; vineyards laid out in parcels on terraces with dry-stone walls that highlight a terroir of gravel and limestone.
