The Barbera dell'Oltrepò Pavese DOC "La Desiderata" by Cantina Vanzini is a red wine with a great personality, which embodies the tradition and history of the Oltrepò Pavese region, located in Lombardy, Italy.

This wine is produced with Barbera grapes, a native variety of the area, which adapts perfectly to the climate and soil of Oltrepò Pavese, giving rise to wines of great structure and personality. The vinification takes place in the traditional way, with fermentation in steel tanks and aging in oak barrels for a few months.

At sight, La Desiderata has an intense ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose is complex and intriguing, with hints of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and blackberries, accompanied by spicy and coffee notes. In the mouth it is warm, balanced and of great structure, with soft tannins and good acidity, which give it a good freshness. The finish is long and persistent, with hints of fruit and spices.

This wine is ideal to accompany red meat dishes, such as roasts and braised meats, but also aged cheeses.
