The "Tazzelenghe Riserva DOC Friuli Colli Orientali - Magnum - La Viarte" is a characterful red wine originating from the renowned wine region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, specifically from the Colli Orientali del Friuli, known for their ability to produce high-quality wines thanks to the favorable microclimate and soils rich in marl and sandstone. This wine is crafted by the La Viarte winery, known for its dedication to producing wines that authentically reflect the local terroir.

Tazzelenghe, which in the Friulian dialect means "tongue cutter" due to its notable acidity and robust tannins, is aged in oak barrels that soften its rough edges, enriching it with elegant notes of wood and vanilla. The Riserva undergoes an extended maturation period both in barrel and in bottle, allowing the development of superior complexity and aromatic intensity.

In the glass, the wine presents a deep ruby red color, with garnet reflections that develop with aging. The bouquet is rich and varied, with hints of wild berries, spices such as pepper and cloves, and a slight touch of tobacco and dark chocolate, resulting from the wood aging. On the palate, the Tazzelenghe Riserva is vigorous and balanced, with a good tannic structure that promises excellent longevity. The well-balanced acidity pairs with a long and pleasantly harmonious finish.

Ideal to serve with red meats, rich and savory dishes, or aged cheeses, this wine best expresses its potential at a serving temperature of around 18°C. The Magnum format presentation is perfect for special occasions, ensuring better wine evolution over time and an impressive presentation at the table.

Winery history
La Viarte was established as a production company in the Colli Orientali del Friuli and is recorded as having been founded in 1973. Over the years it has developed dedicated ranges and, in 2023, returned to public attention thanks to a new management phase with the arrival of the Polegato family, who relaunched the company while maintaining its focus on the local area.
Production philosophy
The winery places respect for the territory, the enhancement of native grape varieties, and a detail-oriented cellar approach at its core: targeted winemaking by type, selective use of oak for red wines, and limited production to emphasize quality and territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located on the hills of the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, near the border with Slovenia. The vineyards grow on marly-sandy soils, which impart structure and minerality to the wines.
