The Tazzelenghe Riserva DOC Friuli Colli Orientali by La Viarte is a red wine that captivates with its complex structure and rich aromas. Produced in the renowned region of Friuli, this wine stands out for its strong, decidedly tannic personality, a typical characteristic of the Tazzelenghe variety, whose name in the Friulian dialect means "tongue cutter," referring precisely to its intense astringency.

La Viarte cultivates Tazzelenghe grapes with dedication and respect for the terroir, promoting an ideal ripening that allows all the potential of this native grape variety to be showcased. The Riserva version undergoes a rigorous grape selection process and a long aging period in wooden barrels, enriching the wine with spicy and vanilla nuances.

Visually, the Tazzelenghe Riserva presents a deep ruby red color. On the nose, notes of ripe black fruits such as blackberries and plums emerge, enriched with hints of black pepper, tobacco, and a slight herbal vein. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet balanced, with robust but well-polished tannins and a long, persistent finish that leaves reminiscences of dark chocolate and cedar.

This wine is ideal for pairing with flavorful red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses. We recommend opening the bottle an hour before serving to allow the wine to fully express its aromatic bouquet.

Stored under optimal conditions, the Tazzelenghe Riserva DOC Friuli Colli Orientali by La Viarte promises to evolve magnificently over many years, increasing its complexity and depth of character. A true jewel for lovers of robust and structured wines.

Winery history
La Viarte was established as a production company in the Colli Orientali del Friuli and is recorded as having been founded in 1973. Over the years it has developed dedicated ranges and, in 2023, returned to public attention thanks to a new management phase with the arrival of the Polegato family, who relaunched the company while maintaining its focus on the local area.
Production philosophy
The winery places respect for the territory, the enhancement of native grape varieties, and a detail-oriented cellar approach at its core: targeted winemaking by type, selective use of oak for red wines, and limited production to emphasize quality and territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located on the hills of the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, near the border with Slovenia. The vineyards grow on marly-sandy soils, which impart structure and minerality to the wines.
