The "Monte Colombo Barbera d'Asti Doppio" in Magnum format by Marchesi di Gresy is an exclusive selection that represents the quintessence of the Barbera grape, elevated to new levels of complexity and refinement. Produced in limited quantities and presented in a magnum format which enhances its aging potential, this wine is a tribute to the passion that the Marchesi di Gresy winery has for the authentic expression of the Piedmontese terroir and for the valorization of native vines.

The "Doppio" denomination underlines the intent to offer a more intense and concentrated interpretation of Barbera d'Asti, through a rigorous selection of the best grapes and prolonged refinement which gives the wine an extraordinary depth of aromas and a more evolved tannic structure . Furthermore, the Magnum format contributes to the slowness of the maturation process, allowing the wine to develop an even broader and more complex bouquet.

Visually, the "Monte Colombo Barbera d'Asti Doppio" presents itself with an intense and deep red color, which heralds the aromatic and gustatory richness of the wine. On the nose, vibrant notes of ripe red and black fruits emerge, such as cherries, blackberries and plums, enriched by accents of sweet spices, chocolate and a subtle touch of vanilla, the result of the elegant aging in barrique.

In the mouth, the wine is powerful but balanced, with a velvety tannic texture that envelops the palate and a well-integrated acidity that gives freshness and dynamism to the sip. The flavors of ripe fruit intertwine with notes of liquorice, tobacco and coffee, culminating in a long and persistent finish, which leaves a sensation of pleasant complexity and richness.

Ideal to accompany elaborate dishes based on red meat, game and mature cheeses, the "Monte Colombo Barbera d'Asti Doppio" Magnum is also a wine for contemplation, capable of expressing all its elegance and depth on special occasions or as part of a collection of fine wines.

In conclusion, the "Monte Colombo Barbera d'Asti Doppio" Magnum by Marchesi di Gresy represents the pinnacle of the winery's production for the Barbera grape, offering a unique tasting experience that celebrates the excellence of Barbera d'Asti and the craftsmanship oenology of one of the most historic and respected wineries in Piedmont.

Property of the di Grésy family, with a documented presence since 1797. Martinenga: the family's monopole cru and the center of winemaking. Production focused on elegance and the expression of the terroir. Four estates between the Langhe and Monferrato. Visits and tastings available by reservation; on-site wine resort/hospitality affiliated with the winery.
Winery history
The estate of Tenute Cisa Asinari has been linked to the di Grésy family since the 18th century; the family has owned the Martinenga cru since 1797. Winemaking under the Grésy label in its modern form was begun by Alberto di Grésy around 1973, when the family decided to produce wine exclusively from their own grapes and to promote wines that expressed the identity of the vineyards.
Production philosophy
The estate places great emphasis on vineyard care and on respecting the grape varieties and tradition: winemaking aims to enhance the terroir’s expression without altering it, producing elegant, balanced wines that reflect the character of each vineyard.
Terroir and vineyards
The estates are located across the Langhe and Monferrato and include Martinenga, Monte Aribaldo, La Serra and Monte Colombo. Martinenga is regarded as one of the area’s finest geographical indications, and the grapes from all the estates are generally vinified at the Martinenga winery.
