Colterenzio's Gewurztraminer Alto Adige DOC is famed for its distinctive aromatic profile and refined elegance. Originating from the picturesque valleys of Alto Adige, this wine fully expresses the unique terroir of this mountainous region, known for its rich soils and the significant temperature variation between day and night that helps to preserve the acidity and fresh aromas of the grapes.

In the glass, the Colterenzio Gewurztraminer presents an intense golden yellow color. On the nose, the bouquet is rich in aromatics, with explosive notes of roses, lychee, exotic spices such as ginger, and touches of yellow-fleshed fruit. These seductive aromas are harmoniously reflected on the palate, where the wine offers a balanced structure, encompassing, with well-balanced acidity contributing to a pleasant freshness.

In the mouth, nuances of honey and a delicate minerality are also felt, leading to a long and persistent finish. These characteristics make the Colterenzio Gewurztraminer particularly versatile at the table: it pairs excellently with spicy dishes, Asian cuisine, grilled fish, or simply as an aperitif.

Whether one wishes to explore the varietal typicity of a Gewurztraminer from Alto Adige or enjoy a wine with great aromatic personality, Colterenzio's Gewurztraminer Alto Adige DOC is an excellent and impactful choice for any white wine enthusiast.

Winery history
Founded as a growers' cooperative in the Colterenzio/Schreckbichl area, the winery was established in 1960 by a group of local producers. In the years that followed, figures such as Luis Raifer drove a significant improvement in quality, initiating experiments on pilot vineyards that helped define the cooperative's identity and flagship selections.
Production philosophy
Teamwork among partners, careful vineyard selection and hand harvesting, reduced yields for premium selections, and a quality-focused approach. In recent years there has also been a clear commitment to sustainable practices and energy efficiency in the winery.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards are located around Colterenzio/Cornaiano/Appiano and nearby areas, at altitudes of approximately 230–650 metres; partly morainic soils and the typical Alto Adige microclimates favour fresh, well-structured white wines.
Awards and recognitions
Among its principal accolades: the Sauvignon Riserva Gran Lafóa was awarded the 'Tre Bicchieri' and named 'Bianco dell'Anno' in the Vini d'Italia guide.
