De Ricci Cantine Storiche's Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG is an authentic expression of the Tuscan terroir, where winemaking tradition merges with modern vinification techniques to create wines of exceptional quality. This wine is known for its robust structure and complex flavor, being primarily produced from Sangiovese grapes, locally known as Prugnolo Gentile.

The color is typically deep ruby, with a tendency to develop garnet reflections with aging. On the nose, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano reveals a rich and intriguing bouquet, marked by notes of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, enriched by hints of vanilla and sweet spices, thanks also to aging in wood.

On the palate, it is full and persistently harmonious, with a beautiful vein of acidity that provides freshness. The tannins are well-integrated and soft, combining with fruit flavors and touches of cocoa and coffee, leading to a long and pleasantly complex finish.

This Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is ideal to serve with rich dishes such as roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses. It is recommended to decant it for at least an hour before serving, to allow the wine to best express its qualities.

De Ricci Cantine Storiche is renowned for its dedication to respecting traditional techniques while also integrating innovative methods that ensure the best expression of the wine. With a history that attests to passion and commitment, this winery offers a Vino Nobile di Montepulciano that is both a tribute to its territory and a delight for any connoisseur.

Winery history
The estate's roots are tied to caves hewn in tuff since Etruscan times; the first documented cellar on the site dates back to 1337, and in the 16th century the so-called "Cattedrale del Vino" was created. In the 20th century ownership passed to local families and, through interventions in recent decades, the estate was reorganized under the leadership of the Trabalzini family, consolidating the De'Ricci brand and opening the new winemaking center Tenuta Fontecornino in 2017. In recent years the cru selection "SorAldo" has been introduced.
Production philosophy
Pursuit of excellence through the reinterpretation of tradition: a strong focus on Sangiovese, sustainable/organic viticultural practices, hand-harvesting and targeted vinifications to highlight the characteristics of individual crus and different parcels.
Terroir and vineyards
Municipality of Montepulciano, with vineyards located in three main areas: Ascianello, Fontecornino, and Fontago.
Awards and recognitions
