The Castel del Monte Nero di Troia Riserva DOCG Ottagono, produced by the renowned Torrevento winery, is a wine of exceptional character and depth, originating from the picturesque region of Castel del Monte in Puglia. This wine is made exclusively from Nero di Troia grapes, an indigenous variety that fully expresses the unique terroir of this area.
Born from vineyards located in the highest and windiest areas, this reserve wine undergoes aging in French oak barriques for at least 12 months, followed by further maturation in the bottle. This process imparts a robust yet elegant structure to the wine, with well-integrated tannins and a long-lasting finish.
In appearance, it showcases an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections as it ages. The bouquet is complex and enveloping, with notes of ripe fruits like plums and cherries, enriched by hints of tobacco, leather, and dark spices, owing to the influence of the wood.
