The story of Cantina Mito was born in Nusco (AV) in the 1960s from the affection of two families of neighboring farmers of land, the Palmieri and Della Vecchia who shared the hard work and tables for the harvest festivals. Over time, a fraternal friendship was established and families began to expand; in 1968 two twins were born from Adelina and Beniamino Palmieri, Gerardo and Soccorso.

In 1976 the Della Vecchia family celebrated the long-awaited arrival of Michele, and it was with him that the trio of future founders of Cantina Mito was completed. In 1993 the twins in their twenties set up a warehouse in Nusco for the roasting and sale of coffee, while Michele in 2003 graduated in architecture; in this period friends have lost touch. After completing their studies, the boys began dating again, and in the evenings spent together they began to talk about a dream.

A project that becomes common, and wants to enhance its origins, creating a wine cellar to honor those lands where their families loved each other by weaving their individual stories. Thus was born in 2013 Cantina Mito, in an Irpinia setting in the heart of Contrada Mito, a hamlet at the foot of a small and historic village, Nusco, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, at 914 meters above sea level.

Their vines are characterized by the best geo-climatic positions and the soils with the most suitable components to keep the vines in perfect condition to obtain grapes suitable for the production of high quality wines. In 2014 the meeting with the oenologist Riccardo Cotarella made the dream of the three partners come true, so a year later they prepare for the first harvest and start the production of Taurasi Amato, a tribute to the protector of their lands, Sant'Amato, and later the 'Aglianico Dunsogno in homage to their dream.

The two wines are included in Luca Maroni's yearbook of the best Italian wines and give the winery the push to go further; the magic becomes the Greco di Tufo Lincanto, which in addition to Aglianico Dunsogno and Taurasi Amato, will form a trio of excellent wines that have perfectly fulfilled their great dream.
