Spalletti Colonna di Palliano winery

Palliano's Spalletti Colonna is located in the heart of Romagna, in the historic "Savignano sul Rubicone estate"; here you can admire the vineyards surrounding the Castello di Ribano, from whose berries the great wines of the company are born.

The estate was born in the distant 1500s, a centuries-old tradition that with its wines fortified the Classensi Monks on holiday at the Castle of Ribano, sec. XI. A vocation for the territory and for the art of making good wine that has been handed down from generation to generation and has thus remained intact. At the center of the Savignano estate stands the Castello di Ribano, the place where in 1875 Count Giulio Rasponi founded the winery.

The estate is then inherited by his daughter Eugenia, who gives it to her niece Countess Gabriella Rasponi who marries Count Venceslao Spalletti, from whom five children are born, one of whom is Giambattista, who inherits the estate and the Savignano cellar. The latter marries the Countess Teresa Ruffo and Venceslao, Ludovica and the Countess Maria Luisa are born, who joins the Prince Oddone Colonna, who inherits the Estate and gives it to his only son Giovanni.

It is the latter, Prince Giovanni Colonna di Palliano, who today is the owner of the Savignano estate; he managed and expanded the vineyards with love and attention and modernized the cellar in 2005.

In the Savignano estate, a large part of the land is planted with vineyards, the most cultivated vines are: Sangiovese, Bombino bianco, Albana, Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Riesling. Wines with special organoleptic characteristics, the result of a careful personal and technological journey, studied down to the smallest detail to guarantee an excellent finished product.
