Winery history Nanni Copè

The project was born from the passion of Giovanni Ascione, who began commercial production in 2007 with the label Sabbie di Sopra il Bosco. The wine quickly received broad critical acclaim and achieved international distribution; around 2020 Ascione announced the end of this production cycle, suspending the production of new vintages.

Production philosophy

Meticulous vineyard care and minimal intervention: selective hand-harvesting, low yields and winemaking focused on preserving the elegance and purity of the fruit. The stated objective is to showcase the single-vineyard expression without overwhelming the wine with excessive concentration or overripeness.

Terroir and vineyards

The vineyards are located in the Alto Casertano, along the Volturno at about 200–250 m above sea level. Soils are deeply sandy, on well‑drained slopes with both mountain and maritime influences from roughly 30 km away.
