Winery Scarzello Giorgio e Figli

The Scarzello family has been producing wine for generations in the centre of the municipality of Barolo. After years of selling wine in bulk, the winery began bottling regularly from the late 1970s; the vineyards were replanted in the 1990s and, according to sources, Federico Scarzello took sole charge of the estate in the early 2000s, carrying on the family tradition while adapting certain aspects of the winemaking and maintaining a traditional style.

The estate prioritizes respect for the land and family continuity: wines crafted with long macerations, gentle extractions and ageing in large barrels, following the traditional Barolo standards and aiming for elegance and longevity rather than passing trends.

Located in the centre of the municipality of Barolo. The vineyards and parcels mentioned belong to crus of the Barolo area, including Sarmassa, Paiagallo, Terlo and the century-old Boschetti vineyard.

Some wines have received recognition and scores from international publications, as well as awards and commendations from Italian guides. Among the wines cited in the sources is Vigna Merenda, which has received positive ratings in specialist magazines.
