Winery history Cantina Sor Rico

The family has been involved in viticulture since the early 20th century. In the 1950s the grandparents purchased the estates on which the winery now stands, dedicated to the grandfather nicknamed "Sor Rico." The current production facility was built in 2018 to centralize the family's winemaking.

Production philosophy

Artisanal practices and respect for the land: hand-harvested into small crates, immediate processing at the winery, and use of the subsoil’s natural insulation to limit environmental impact and control temperatures during winemaking and aging.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards in the hamlet of Stacciola in the Marche hinterland, a few kilometres from the sea and about 50 km from the Appennino Umbro-Marchigiano. Soils are medium-textured and tend to be clayey.
