Winery history Tenuta Valdipiatta

The estate was established in the 1960s and experienced significant development in the late 1980s when it was acquired by Giulio Caporali. Since 2002 operational management has been overseen by his daughter, Miriam Caporali. Over the years the company has developed collaborations with oenologists and institutions and has progressively adopted sustainability-oriented agricultural practices. Public sources report a further change of ownership announced in January 2025: the complete acquisition by entrepreneur Michael L. Cioffi, with Miriam Caporali confirmed in the operational role.

Production philosophy

Sustainability-focused approach and protection of biodiversity: soil management using organic fertilizers and cover crops, protection of ecological corridors and reduction of chemical treatments. The estate values the local Sangiovese, respecting tradition and terroir while integrating scientific knowledge and international consulting.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in Montepulciano, in the heart of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano denomination in southern Tuscany. The estate reports vineyards distributed across several parcels in the zona poliziana and carries out agronomic practices aimed at conserving biodiversity.
