Winery history Valle dell’Acate

The Jacono family’s winemaking tradition dates back to the late 19th century, when Giuseppe Jacono began production and opened the winery. In 1981, Giuseppe Jacono Jr. founded Valle dell’Acate to continue growing native grape varieties of south-eastern Sicily. Gaetana Jacono joined the company in 1996.

Production philosophy

The winery focuses on continuity with tradition, uncompromising quality and the promotion of native grape varieties, especially Frappato and Cerasuolo. It combines oenological research and sustainable technologies while respecting the rhythms of nature and the territory.

Terroir and vineyards

The estate is located in Feudo Biddini, in the Biddini Soprano and Biddini Sottano districts of the province of Ragusa. Its vineyards cover about 70 hectares among the hills shaped by the Dirillo River; the property also includes an archaeological site with a Greek necropolis.
