Akashi White Oak Distillery

Eigashima Shuzo has documented origins in the 19th century: the company was founded in 1888 and began expanding production with a distillation plant in 1919. The current whisky facility (often identified as White Oak / Eigashima distillery) was completed in the 1980s (with a new structure finished in 1984). The Akashi brand is the whisky label produced by the house, with releases of blended and single malt from the 2000s onward.

The company states an approach based on artisanal tradition and corporate 'sincerity'; for Akashi whiskies it favors the original expression of the distillate (bottling without chill filtration and without added coloring).
