Mari is the brand linked to the Familia Marí Mayans, the traditional producer of Hierbas Ibicencas from Ibiza. The range is based on family recipes, macerations and infusions of local aromatic plants, with artisanal production carried out on the island.

The story
The Marí Mayans family has been connected to the production of liqueurs and distillates in the Ibiza area since the late 19th century; official sources attribute the origin of the Hierbas recipe to Juan Marí Mayans around 1880. The company has preserved family recipes and artisanal methods for generations and produces in the Montecristo industrial area (Ibiza).
Production philosophy
To valorise the native aromatic plants of Ibiza and Formentera, preserve traditional family recipes and combine artisanal methods with modern quality controls to offer products with a strong territorial identity.

Production method
Hierbas liqueurs are obtained by maceration, distillation and/or infusion of the island's aromatic plants; production uses agricultural alcohol, demineralized water and the addition of sugar for the final product. For some distillates traditional discontinuous pot stills are used.
Distillation
Maceration and infusion of herbs, with distillation carried out in traditional discontinuous pot stills for some products; artisanal process integrated with modern quality controls.
Ageing
No barrel aging detected for Hierbas Ibicencas (production based on maceration/infusion); aging is not indicated for the main range.
