Producer history The Ultimate
The Ultimate Whisky Company was started in 1994 by Han and Maurice van Wees as the independent bottling arm of the Van Wees group. The business grew from the family's long experience in the whisky trade and from direct selection of casks sourced both from producers and from extensive private/broker stocks, aiming to offer quality single casks at competitive prices. Over time the collection has reached more than a thousand bottlings and includes releases from the main Scottish production regions.
Production philosophy
The producer's philosophy is based on careful cask selection (tasting directly from the cask), preserving the original character of the malt and offering strong value for money. They favour bottlings that reflect the profile of the individual spirit, limiting wood influence when necessary, and keep bottles non-chill filtered and at natural colour.
