Let’s talk about Americano Vermouth Rosso 75cl - Vergano

More questions

Americano Vermouth Rosso 75cl - Vergano represents a refined expression of the Piedmontese tradition in vermouth production, a flavored wine with a long history. Produced in the lively Piedmont area, this vermouth is born from a careful selection of quality base wines, enriched with a secret blend of botanicals and typical aromatic spices, which give it intensity and character. The bright ruby red color anticipates the complex and enveloping notes found on the nose, where hints of bitter herbs, vanilla, candied citrus, and sweet spices stand out.

On the palate, Americano Vermouth Rosso is balanced between softness and freshness, with a slight bitter touch typical of its tradition, which enhances its versatility both as an aperitif and as a base ingredient for numerous classic cocktails. Its refinement takes place in controlled containers that allow the botanical aromas to perfectly merge with the wine's structure, ensuring elegance and remarkable gustatory persistence. Ideal to enjoy neat or with ice, it pairs splendidly with rustic snacks or cured meats, enhancing every moment of conviviality.

The story
Production stems from the personal experience of Mauro Vergano, a chemist and enologist, who from the 1970s experimented with vermouth and chinato recipes for friends and family. The first bottles sold commercially date to the early 2000s; several sources indicate 2003 as the year when production was brought to wider distribution. In the following years the activity has remained a niche, family-run production with involvement of the new generations.
Ageing
Ageing in stainless steel tanks for some products; for others there are references to short ageing periods in small barrels (method varies depending on the label).
