Barbera d'Alba DOC "Vigna Scarrone" by Vietti is a wine that embodies the passion and innovation of one of the most prestigious wineries in Piedmont. This wine comes from a selected vineyard called "Scarrone", located in the renowned hills of Alba, where the soil and microclimate combine to offer ideal conditions for the cultivation of the Barbera grape.

"Vigna Scarrone" stands out for its intense ruby red color with violet reflections, which anticipates the aromatic richness and gustatory complexity of the wine. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe red fruits emerge, such as cherries and blueberries, enriched by spicy notes and a hint of vanilla, the result of the elegant aging in French oak barriques which does not overpower but enhances the varietal characteristics of Barbera.

In the mouth, the wine reveals an extraordinary intensity and depth, with a perfect harmony between vibrant acidity and soft tannins, which give "Vigna Scarrone" a rich and enveloping structure. The aromatic complexity is expressed in a full and persistent sip, with a long and savory finish that invites you to the next tasting.

Ideally paired with Piedmontese dishes, such as agnolotti del plin, braised meats and red meats, as well as with medium and long-aged cheeses, this Barbera d'Alba DOC "Vigna Scarrone" is also an excellent wine for contemplation, which can be appreciated alone for its richness and complexity.

Winery history
The Vietti winery was founded at the end of the 19th century in Castiglione Falletto; in 1917 Mario Vietti transformed the estate into a business focused on producing quality wines. In the 1950s Alfredo Currado introduced technical and cultural innovations that led to the creation of one of Barolo’s first crus and, in 1967, to the production of Roero Arneis as a single-varietal wine. Since 2016 the property has been owned by the Krause family, who have continued the winery’s development while respecting its identity and historic vineyards.
