The quality recognized in the wines of Piera 1899 is the result of a daily commitment which translates into maximum sustainability of processes and production choices aimed at minimum environmental impact. In 1998 the company introduces the first line of organic wines.
The harvest of this organic wine is done in the months of September and October. The vinification is in red with prolonged maceration for 15 - 20 days at a controlled temperature of 26 ° - 28 ° C. After the alcoholic fermentation the malolactic fermentation is induced with a subsequent stay on the fine deposit in large barrels until spring.
In the glass it shows a deep ruby red color, with slightly garnet reflections. The nose is a spicy wine with notes of cloves and hints of small red berries; with aging, sweet vanilla aromas also emerge. On the palate the flavor is full, velvety with sweet and delicate spiciness of the tannins and very persistent in the mouth.
A drink in which quality, tradition and respect for the environment merge which at the table goes perfectly with red meats, poultry and game, it is also pleasantly accompanied by cured meats and aged cheeses.
