The Ceccante di Grillesino represents an excellence of the Maremma Toscana, a generous and sunny land that expresses its Mediterranean roots with vigor and finesse in Cabernet Sauvignon.

This wine is made from selected Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, grown in vineyards that benefit from the mild climate and the typical temperature variations of the Maremma, thus favoring the acquisition of aromatic complexity and balanced tannic structure. After controlled fermentation, the Ceccante skillfully ages in wood, an element that helps to integrate notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, and an elegant balsamic hint, offering an intense and enveloping olfactory profile.

On the palate it is vigorous and full-bodied, with soft tannins and a fresh acidic vein that guarantees longevity and the ability to evolve over time. Perfect to accompany grilled red meats, robust roasts, or aged cheeses, the Ceccante di Grillesino embodies the balance between tradition and modernity of the Maremma Toscana. A tasting experience that tells the story of the territory through every sip, enhancing the excellence of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape in this fascinating denomination.

Country: Italia
Founded: 1999
Grapes: Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Vermentino, Viognier, Pinot Blanc
Based in Magliano in Tuscany, in the Lower Maremma. Production and promotion of Morellino di Scansano and Sangiovese-based wines. Example of the vinification of pure Ciliegiolo. Technical collaborations with the Università di Agraria di Firenze and French oenological institutes for clonal selection. Part of the Compagnia del Vino group, which oversees production and marketing.
Winery history
A project led by Giancarlo and Saverio Notari that took shape in the late 1990s: the Grillesino estate was established as a production property affiliated with the Compagnia del Vino group and has been developed through vineyard work and expansions of the winery, enhancing selected clones in collaboration with the Università di Agraria di Firenze and the Institut d'Oenologie de Bordeaux.
Production philosophy
Production focused on the typicity of the territory: use of modern winery technologies combined with light filtration treatments to preserve the character of the native grapes; experimentation with clones and varieties to produce wines recognizable as being from the Maremma.
Terroir and vineyards
Magliano in Toscana, Bassa Maremma, with vineyards partly located within the Maremma DOC / Morellino di Scansano appellations.
