Classic Chardonnay - Beringer is one of the most accessible and loved expressions of the Chardonnay grape, produced by the historic Beringer winery. Founded in 1876, Beringer is one of the oldest wineries in California's Napa Valley, known for its wide range of wines ranging from high-quality wines to more accessible labels, such as the Classic line.

Classic Chardonnay reflects Beringer's ability to create wines that are both pleasing to the palate and great value. This wine is characterized by a modern approach to winemaking, which seeks to preserve the freshness and expressiveness of the fruit, while integrating notes of complexity through skilful management of aging in wood.

At sight, the Classic Chardonnay has a brilliant straw yellow color. On the nose, the wine offers an aromatic bouquet that combines the liveliness of white pulp fruits, such as apple and pear, with delicate floral accents and a subtle note of vanilla and butter, the result of aging partly in oak barriques. This balanced use of wood does not overpower the fruit, but adds a dimension of complexity and roundness to the wine.

In the mouth, the Classic Chardonnay - Beringer reveals a medium structure, with a well-balanced acidity that keeps the wine fresh and lively. Fruity notes blend with a delicate creaminess and a touch of sweet spices, leading to a clean and refreshing finish.

This Chardonnay is extremely versatile at the table, capable of accompanying a variety of dishes ranging from seafood to summer salads, from chicken dishes to richer fish dishes. It is also perfect as an aperitif, thanks to its accessibility and pleasantness to drink.

Winery history
The estate was established by brothers Jacob and Frederick Beringer in the late 19th century: they purchased land at the foot of Spring Mountain and produced their first grapes and made their first sales around 1876. The old stone winery was built using the gravity-flow method and became operational for the 1877 harvest; the Rhine House was later constructed between 1883 and 1884. Throughout the 20th century the estate maintained continuous operation, opening guided public tours in the post‑Prohibition period and preserving hand‑dug aging caves.
Production philosophy
Beringer combines historical heritage with modern production: it selects grapes from different Napa subzones to express the terroir, focuses on the consistent quality of its Cabernet and Chardonnay, and offers visitor experiences and direct sales to highlight the connection between the land, historic architecture and its wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located in St. Helena, in the heart of Napa Valley, with historic vineyards at the foot of Spring Mountain. The estate includes historic buildings and an extensive system of underground caves used for aging wines.
