More questions

Cognac Hennessy VSOP is a prestigious distillate from the famous Grande Champagne region, the heart of French cognac production. Made primarily from Ugni Blanc grapes, this blend is the result of a skillful selection of eaux-de-vie aged for at least four years in oak barrels, which give the liquor an elegant and harmonious structure. On the nose, it reveals a rich aromatic complexity with notes of fresh fruit, delicate spices, and light hints of vanilla, an expression of well-balanced aging. On the palate, the VSOP is smooth and enveloping, with a refined balance between sweetness and a pleasant freshness, ideal for sipping neat or accompanied by an orange twist.

Perfect as a digestif after an important meal, it is also suitable for revisiting classic cocktails, thanks to its intense and versatile personality, emblematic of Hennessy craftsmanship and tradition.

The story
Founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy, the Maison developed over the centuries a strong connection with the town of Cognac and the Charente river, which facilitated exports. During the 19th and 20th centuries the Maison established itself internationally; the tradition of blending has been preserved by generations of Master Blenders (the Fillioux family being among the best known). Today Hennessy is present in over 160 countries and is part of the Moët Hennessy / LVMH group.
Distillation
Double distillation in traditional Charentais copper pot stills; only the middle cut ('heart') of the distillate is kept.
Ageing
Maturation in oak barrels stored in controlled chais; the eaux‑de‑vie are rotated among barrels to develop complexity; the Maison has an extensive historic reserve of barrels.
