In the famous Northern Rhône region, Cote Rotie stands out as one of the most prestigious appellations, and Domaine Rostaing with its Ampodium expresses its most authentic elegance. This wine is mainly made from Syrah grapes, grown on schist soils that impart minerality and structure. The vinification and aging process, often accompanied by a well-measured time in oak barrels, gives complexity and finesse to the product without overshadowing the varietal character.

In the glass, it displays an intense ruby color, accompanied by aromas of red fruits, spices, and smoky notes typical of the terroir. On the palate, it is full-bodied, balanced, and persistent, with elegant tannins and a slight peppery touch. Ampodium is ideal to accompany red meats, game, and aged cheeses, making every meal a special occasion to savor the richness of the vineyards of Cote Rotie.

A refined sensory experience, embodying the tradition and passion of Domaine Rostaing.

Winery history
The domaine is associated with René Rostaing, who began vinifying in the late 1960s and produced his first recorded vintage in 1971. Over the years the domaine expanded its parcels in Côte-Rôtie and also developed a small Condrieu and productions in Languedoc. Management has passed to the next generation with Pierre Rostaing.
Production philosophy
Vineyard and cellar approach focused on showcasing the fruit and the terroir: vinification that prioritizes modern winemaking techniques and the controlled use of barriques so as not to overpower the raw material; crop thinning/leaf removal and the selective use of destemming are mentioned in the technical notes.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquartered in Ampuis, in the Northern Rhône; the main vineyards and cuvées come from historic lieux-dits of Côte-Rôtie and from a parcel in Condrieu. Productions are also listed under IGP Collines Rhodaniennes and in Languedoc.
