The Dolcetto d'Alba DOC by Seghesio is a haven for lovers of fresh and fruity wines, distinctly Piedmontese. From the heart of the hills of Alba, this label represents a pure expression of the Dolcetto variety, known for its friendliness and immediate drinkability.

Visually, the wine presents an intense ruby red color, with violet reflections that attest to its youth. On the nose, the bouquet is generously fruity, with a predominance of cherry and plum notes, and a subtle undertone of bitter almond that is typical of Dolcetto. There are also hints of sweet spices, contributing to a complex and inviting olfactory profile.

On the palate, Seghesio's Dolcetto d'Alba surprises with its extraordinary drinkability, supported by pleasant acidity and soft but well-present tannins. The palate is enveloping, with a richness of ripe red fruits that extends into a clean and lingering finish.

This wine is ideal for accompanying a variety of Italian dishes, particularly those based on meat, such as "agnolotti al plin" with roast sauce, or simpler dishes like a high-quality Margherita pizza. It is also perfect for enjoying in company, perhaps during an informal evening among friends.

Cultivated and produced with passion by the Seghesio family, who have dedicated generations to viticulture with respect for the territory and tradition, the Dolcetto d'Alba DOC is an excellent choice for those seeking an authentic and characterful wine.

Family-owned winery in the Langhe, based in Monforte d'Alba (the Castelletto hamlet), noted for its expressions of Nebbiolo (Barolo Castelletto, La Villa), as well as Barbera and Dolcetto.
Region: Piemonte
Country: Italia
Founded: 1988
Grapes: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Incrocio Manzoni
Based in Monforte d'Alba, in the Castelletto hamlet. Production focused on Nebbiolo/Barolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. Family-run estate: Riccardo and his grandchildren are involved in the operations. Approximately 10 hectares of vineyards with an indicative production of around 60,000 bottles per year. Wines reviewed by international publications and listed in specialist guides and retailers.
Winery history
The Seghesio-branded bottle first appeared in the late 1980s: brothers Aldo and Riccardo began bottling under the Fratelli Seghesio label, and the winery is now run by Riccardo together with his nieces and nephews Michela, Sandro and Marco. The business retains a family character and remains focused on the local appellations of the Langhe.
Production philosophy
The estate aims to produce wines that reflect the terroir and the characteristics of the grapes, balancing tradition with modern cellar practices to showcase the local character.
Terroir and vineyards
Production is concentrated in the Castelletto cru in Monforte d'Alba. The soils include calcareous formations and marls; some vineyards are located at around 350 m elevation with favourable exposures that contribute to the aromatic balance of the Nebbiolo destined for Barolo.
Awards and recognitions
Some of the estate's wines have been reviewed and rated by international magazines and guides: for example, Decanter awarded 91 points to the Vigneto La Villa bottling in a tasting. Other scores and mentions appear on retailers and specialized guides.
