The Fiano di Avellino Cru DOCG "Tognano" from Rocca del Principe represents one of the highest expressions of this indigenous Campanian grape variety, known for its ability to produce refined and complex wines. This wine stands out for its meticulously cared-for production process, from the selection of the grapes to the maturation in the bottle.

Visually, "Tognano" presents itself with a bright straw-yellow color, sometimes enriched by greenish reflections that underscore its freshness. On the nose, it is immediately captivating due to its intense aromaticity: notes of white-fleshed fruit such as peach and pear blend perfectly with nuances of white flowers and light touches of aromatic herbs, creating an olfactory complexity of rare elegance.

On the palate, Fiano di Avellino "Tognano" expresses remarkable freshness accompanied by a structure that ensures a pleasantly persistent taste. The minerality is well balanced by the acidity, resulting in a long and savory finish. The complexity of flavors includes notes of green apple, lemon, almond, and a slight aftertaste of honey, typical of the grape variety when allowed to mature.

Ideal as an aperitif, this wine pairs beautifully with dishes based on fish, shellfish, delicate white meats, and fresh cheeses. Its versatility and complexity of tastes also make it an ideal companion for international cuisines that blend sweet and savory.

Rocca del Principe's "Tognano" is, undoubtedly, a specimen that celebrates the Campanian wine tradition, offering a tasting experience that remains impressed on the palate and in memory. A jewel that enchants and tells the story of the land of Avellino through every sip.

Production philosophy
An artisanal, quality-focused approach: low yields in the vineyard, management practices that respect the soil and the vines, and winery interventions aimed at enhancing varietal identity. Selected aging methods are employed, including sur lie for some white wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery, located in Lapio in the heart of Irpinia, works vineyards situated on recognized cru sites such as Arianiello and Contrada Campore. The hilly location and proximity to the Monti Picentini influence diurnal temperature variations and the ripening of the grapes.
