The Gevrey-Chambertin produced by Mark Haisma is a distinct expression of one of the most celebrated terroirs of Burgundy. This wine encapsulates the essence of Pinot Noir grapes, cultivated in an area renowned for its ability to produce wines of extraordinary character and depth. On the nose, Mark Haisma's Gevrey-Chambertin offers complex notes of black cherry, licorice, and a subtle hint of damp earth, typical of the region. On the palate, the wine is robust yet elegant, with well-integrated tannins and a vivid acidic freshness leading to a long and persistent finish. Aging in French oak barrels contributes to a well-balanced structure and slightly toasted notes that intertwine perfectly with the fruit. This Gevrey-Chambertin is ideal for accompanying red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses, and shows excellent aging potential.
