The Mezcal Alberto Ortiz Tobalá is born in the Oaxaca region, the beating heart of the Mexican mezcal tradition, where the mountainous territory and altitude give the drink a unique character. This mezcal is produced exclusively from the Tobalá agave variety, a wild, small-sized variety that grows in difficult natural conditions, resulting in a highly sought-after product for its aromatic complexity.

The process follows artisanal methods, with a slow cooking of the piñas in ovens dug into the rock, which impart smoky and burnt earth aromas to the distillate. After a double distillation in copper stills, the result is a mezcal with an intense but balanced profile, characterized by smoky notes, hints of ripe fruit, and a mineral touch reminiscent of the volcanic rocks of the original terrain.

On tasting, the softness on the palate and a long persistence with a slightly spicy aftertaste are appreciated. Perfect as a meditative tasting or paired with traditional Mexican dishes such as smoked meat tacos or ceviche, the Mezcal Alberto Ortiz Tobalá represents an authentic sensory journey into the heart of Oaxaca’s mezcal culture.
