The Sangiovese Superiore DOC - L'Opposizione by Caviro is a celebration of Italian winemaking excellence, capturing the essence of the Sangiovese varietal grown in the prestigious denomination area of Romagna. This wine represents a synthesis of tradition and innovation, offering enthusiasts an authentic and deeply evocative tasting experience.

The Sangiovese used for L'Opposizione comes from carefully selected vineyards, where the microclimate and the clay-limestone soil impart particular complexity and structure to the wine. The winemaking follows methods that respect the original fruit, preserving the varietal qualities and the integrity of the taste. The process includes controlled fermentation and aging in stainless steel containers, allowing the wine to best express the characteristics of Sangiovese.

Visually, the Sangiovese Superiore DOC has an intense ruby-red color, with shades that turn to garnet as it ages. On the nose, it offers a rich and persistent bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, enriched by nuances of spices and a light vein of tobacco and leather, evidence of its brief passage in wood.

On the palate, L'Opposizione is robust and balanced, with the typical acidity of Sangiovese blending well with a well-defined but soft tannic structure. The finish is long and pleasantly harmonious, bringing back memories of fruit and spices in the aftertaste.

This wine pairs beautifully with Italian dishes such as tagliatelle al ragù, roasted meats, and aged cheeses. It is also an excellent companion for evening conversations, representing a solid choice for those looking for a wine with a strong territorial identity and a fascinating history behind it. Ideal for enjoying now, it also has excellent aging potential.
