It was 1985 when Antonio Santarelli founded Casale del Giglio in the unexploited lands of the Pontine countryside, fascinated by that territory and strengthened by the family experience in the oenological field. Accompanied by his father Dino and by university researchers and agronomists, he planted more than 60 different types of vines which, with the help of the oenologist Paolo Tiefenthaler, gave excellent results both in purity and in blending.
One of these is Satrico, an apt blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Trebbiano with a particular and extremely pleasant taste. The name is a tribute to the ancient city of Satrico which in the 9th century BC. it was located in the village of Le Ferriere, where the company headquarters are today.
In the glass it shows off a beautiful golden straw yellow color while it inebriates the sense of smell with hints of golden apple and hazelnut, blended with notes of aromatic herbs and vanilla. On the palate it is soft, supported by a fresh acidity that invites the sip. It goes perfectly with appetizers, first and second courses based on white fish and shellfish, delicate white meats and omelettes with vegetables.
