The Sauternes AOC from Chateau St.Helene is a true gem in the landscape of French sweet wines. Presented in a 375ml bottle, this wine is renowned for its intense sweetness balanced by a vibrant acidity, creating a perfect equilibrium that delights the palate.

The wine displays an intense golden yellow, almost amber color, which immediately suggests the richness of the Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes, carefully selected and handpicked. This method of late harvesting allows the grape berries to naturally wither on the vine, concentrating sugars and flavors, which culminate in a wine of extraordinary complexity and depth.

On the nose, the Sauternes from Chateau St.Helene offers a charming and complex bouquet. Notes of apricot, honey, candied peach, and light touches of almond blend with nuances of sweet spices and white flowers, making the olfactory experience as inviting as it is anticipatory of the richness of taste.

On the palate, the wine reveals its majestic structure with sweetness well balanced by fresh acidity. Flavors of ripe fruit mix with those of vanilla and caramel, creating a long and lingering finish that leaves traces of dried fruit and a delicate botrytic sensation, typical of Sauternes.

Ideal as an aperitif or to accompany dishes based on foie gras, the Sauternes from Chateau St.Helene also pairs beautifully with blue cheeses and desserts made from fruit or creams. A true meditation wine, to be enjoyed in special moments.

Winery history
Chateau is marketed as the second wine associated with the Château de Malle estate, produced in the Sauternes region. Information found in product sheets and articles indicates that the cuvée is made according to the same practices used for Château de Malle’s first wine and is distributed as a product of the Sauternes appellation, with reference to the estate’s parcels located between Preignac, Fargues and Toulenne. Château de Malle is a Grand Cru Classé of the Sauternes appellation, managed by the Comtes de Bournazel family/management.
Production philosophy
Wine production follows the Sauternes tradition: late harvest with manual selection of grapes affected by noble rot, careful sorting in multiple passes, and winemaking designed to enhance the balance between sweetness and acidity typical of Sauternes liquoreux.
Terroir and vineyards
It is part of the Sauternes area. Commercial sources report that the vineyard parcels used for the wines associated with the domaine are distributed across the communes of Preignac, Fargues and Toulenne, in the southeast of the Bordeaux region.
