The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC of the Contesa line, produced by Azienda Agricola Contesa, represents a rare expression of Trebbiano grapes grown with great care in the heart of Abruzzo. The grape variety, typical of the region, finds here an ideal terroir with calcareous soils and a Mediterranean climate moderated by the nearby Apennines, which gives the wine minerality and freshness.

The winemaking process is aimed at preserving varietal purity, with controlled fermentation and a short refinement in stainless steel to maintain the fresh and fruity notes intact. On the nose, hints of white flowers, green apple and slight almond nuances emerge. On the palate it is balanced, with a light body, lively acidity and a clean, persistent finish.

It pairs perfectly with delicate seafood dishes, such as fish appetizers or herb risottos, and represents a versatile and authentic white wine, ideal for those seeking a wine that encapsulates the winegrowing tradition of Abruzzo.

Winery history
Contesa was founded as a winemaking project linked to the Pasetti family; online sources describe the central role of Rocco Pasetti and his family in managing the estate. The cellar carved into the hillside was completed in the 2000s, and from there the estate developed several ranges of wines focused on the grape varieties typical of Abruzzo.
Production philosophy
Production aimed at enhancing the Abruzzo terroir and employing low-impact winemaking practices: selective use of wood, controlled fermentations, and attention to preserving the freshness of native grape varieties. Sources also report a commitment to sustainability and a transition to organic practices and environmental certification.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards in the Collecorvino area, on the hills northwest of Pescara: favourable south-facing exposure, clay-limestone soils and elevations of around 250 m above sea level; conditions considered suitable for Montepulciano and other local grape varieties.
