The Valdarno di Sopra DOC Polissena, produced by the acclaimed winery Il Borro, is a distinguished example of Tuscan enological excellence. This red wine, strictly organic, is born from the passion and commitment to environmental sustainability that define Il Borro's philosophy.

Sourced from the fertile lands of the Valdarno di Sopra area, Polissena is a single-varietal Sangiovese. The grapes for this wine are meticulously selected and come from vineyards that enjoy an ideal location, benefiting from a perfect microclimate for optimal grape ripening.

After the harvest, the grapes undergo a fermentation process in stainless steel tanks, followed by a maturation period in French oak barriques for about 12 months. This process imparts to Polissena a robust structure and an elegant balance of aromas.

On the nose, the wine reveals intense notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, enriched by undertones of sweet spices and a slight hint of tobacco and leather, testament to its aging in barrels.
