The property is recognizable by the wall that surrounds it and by several historical episodes linked to the island, such as visits by Napoleon. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries the estate underwent multiple changes of management; online sources report transfers of ownership and renovations that restored the historic buildings and launched the modern agritourism activity.
