Tarazona Miriam Organic Farm

The Bio Tarazona Miriam farm was born in Arezzo, in the heart of Tuscany, on the slopes of the Casentino Forests to spread its natural products, among which, after 18 years of study, Etruscan wine stands out.

In 2000, the idea was born of creating a wine that faithfully reproduced the method used by the ancient Etruscans. The project began with the help of archaeologists, including Prof. Maurizio Pellegrini educational director of the Villa Giulia Museum in Rome, as well as geologists to understand the composition of our soil, and doctors of agriculture to be able to become biological and biodynamic, taking great care of the Permaculture method.

A lot of time was spent studying and designing the jars in which to rest and age the wine. Once the optimum was reached, studies began on the internal insulation of the jars made up above all of wax, resins and other natural components which then in 2015 became a part of the winemaking system known as the "Mondini Method". With the own-produced beeswax the search for the raw materials necessary for the new vinification was closed.

On 4 December 2013 UNESCO recognized Intangible Heritage of Humanity the winemaking in jars (Qvevri) in Georgia. Thus the company had the consent and the necessary authorizations to be able to produce the first wine vinified in the ETRUSCAN way. In 2014 the first sequence of “official” jars had just been buried in the hill of the jars.
