Moortgat Brewery

The Moortgat Brewery was founded in Belgium, in 1871, da Jan-Leonard Moortgat. By commemorare la end of World War I, Moortgat called his beer Victory Ale, also known as "la bière de la victoire" or the winner's beer.

Later this name was abandoned, and after the 1920s the beer was nicknamed a real devil or "a real devil "and was finally renamed with the still known name of Duvel.

Today Moortgat, in addition to Duvel Beer, markets Bel Pils, Vedett and Maredsous abbey beer.
