Arnaldo Caprai Winery
The winery was founded in 1971 when Arnaldo Caprai, then a successful textile entrepreneur, bought 45 hectares in Montefalco to fulfill his dream of running a farm for the production of wine. Since 1988, the management has passed into the hands of his son Marco, who believed in the great wealth of this tradition and recovered it in a modern way, adopting the most innovative production and business management methods.
Acquisition of new vineyards, experimentation and technological modernization; therefore a continuous study of better ways of breeding, more suitable fermentations and woods for an optimal refinement process.
Thanks to this, the company quickly established itself in the wine world by offering powerful, elegant wines with great personality and typicality.
The spearhead of the company is the Sagrantino di Montefalco, Sagrantino 25, the first vintage produced in '93 (celebrating its 25th anniversary), an award-winning wine that places the Caprai winery among the great Italian wine producers.
The company's goal today remains that of thirty years ago: constant and meticulous work in favor of quality, research and experimentation with new agronomic and oenological techniques, the dissemination of the culture and tradition of the territory of which company becomes an interpreter.
